This might be the shortest intro… ever. You have no idea what I need to get done in the next 36 hours (or why…) but, lemme tell ya… it’s A LOT! (and for a really good reason…) But, please bear with me…while I just refuse to elaborate – at all – on how ridiculously amazing this day was… and how I want to live with BOTH Kaitlin and Brendan’s Moms in perpetuity… and, I’m so very, very, dead serious about that. Oh, and we kinda already determined, well, at least Kathy Dunn and I decided, if we WERE to do that exact thing, we would do it in the house Kaitlin got ready for her wedding in, right at Wychmere. We basically planned the whole thing out; it’s a done deal – or, shall we say, a “Dunn” deal. HAHAHA I’m so funny.

I was so excited to shoot, not only Kaitlin and Brendan’s wedding, but I couldn’t wait to shoot at Wychmere. I just have to say, I’ve made myself perfectly at home shooting weddings down the Cape, and, well, on every other seaside location South of Boston, and I couldn’t be happier! If I were to take a guess, I’d say well over half the weddings I shot this past year, I arrived at the cocktail hour with the Bride & Groom via boat – I’m not gonna lie to you and say I got a bad gig, that’s for sure. I was also SUPER excited to work with the amazing duo, Tom & Melissa of Long Haul Films (see their fantastic Wedding Film here.)

Jess + Pike || Cohasset Harbor Wedding

Jess is quite possibly one of the sweetest human beings on the planet. Understated, elegant, kind, quiet, and funny are other words I could use to describe her. When the weatherpeople started predicting rain for saturday, Jess and I were in constant contact the week leading up to the day, on a warpath to find places to shoot the First Look and family formal portraits. Between the two of us, we – if I do say so myself – hit it out of the park. I could not be happier they had predicted rain, but also, that it really wasn’t very rainy!

For a million and one reasons, I have to be brief; I am on an editing tear… and I can’t be stopped. need.to.keep.editing…

Marie + Chris || Boston Wedding Photographer

Marie is another one of my absolutely adorable brides, who I’m so thankful and appreciative of. With Marie, her trust in me is so great, I could have told her I wanted the entire bridal party to draw large Sharpie mustaches on all their faces, and I think she wouldn’t happily obliged. On the morning of her wedding, I arrived and shortly thereafter, began photographing all the details – of which, Marie, you nailed! – I noticed on her wedding day timeline for family and bridal party the entry… 10:30 am “kat arrives” I almost started to tear up (who am I kidding? you know I totally did.) I was so completely touched; that’s how important I was to her – and she always made me feel that way. She’s one of the brides that just said “okay! whatever you say. you’re the expert.” And I don’t just love that because I’m a semi-control freak; the part of it I appreciate, I just want to do the BEST possible job I can for them, & everyone. So when a location isn’t suitable, or the timing of events, or amount of additional locations/picture requests are asked for, I’m happy to oblige, but I always advise “It’s your wedding day, I absolutely want to make sure we do things the way you would like, I’m just letting you know, as an FYI, I do see a few issues with how it’s going to all work.” It’s completely fine with me, whatever we do on the wedding day, I’m there to document it. But, I’m also there to guide you, if you need my help. Whatever the case may be, as long as we’re both on the same page, I’m good.

Lost? Confused? Can’t find your pants? ….um. love this Marie!!!Chris was also so great – when I first met him, I thought he was a little shy, but after our engagement session shoot in Boston, which Marie let me test out my reacquainted film shooting skills (PS they’re the same as digital shooting skills – go figure. not sure why I was terrified to pick up a film camera again… ) Chris, Marie and I went walking around Boston – OMG! remember I almost face-planted in front of the BPL? Holy moly. I mean, I’m a clutz, but this was LEGIT, quite nearly a “knock out your front teeth face plant.” Not pretty. Not surprising either, but c’est la vie. Where was I? Oh, after the shoot, we went to grab drinks and dinner on a patio somewhere in Back Bay. That’s when Chris told me a life-changing fact; Corona is made from rice. Sunshine broke through the clouds, angles appeared, and started singing. I can’t eat wheat – what most beers are made of – but rice? Rice – I can eat. and do eat. in large quantities. Corona. my GF life became complete after that. Now just please tell me Papa Gino’s pizza and Maria’s subs are GF, and I’m golden!

um the light? DIED. so, so pretty!!! This sign has been held for generations of family members, and passed down, how cool is that? this might be one of my most favorite images i’ve ever shot. see? adorable. ps i’m funny. really funny. i promise.

Again, both Marie and Chris’ parents were adorable – all giving me hugs and thanking me for the job I did. Does it get better than that? I don’t remember this happening at the end of the day when I worked in corporate America. ;) yeah, i’ll take this gig, any day. Thanks you guys, for continuing to always love me, no matter what!
